lake garda

The enchantment of water

Lake Garda offers a gentle, regenerating climate thanks to the temperature of the water, which helps to mitigate both the summer heat and the winter cold.
Among the resorts that embellish its shores, Limone sul Garda is certainly one of the most exclusive and offers visitors every kind of scenery.

limone sul Garda

A pearl set on the lake shore

Famous for its lemon orchards, extra virgin olive oil and the longevity of its inhabitants, Limone sul Garda is one of the most popular resorts on the Brescia side of the lake, even more so than Desenzano and Salò, which are just an hour’s drive away. In the past, it could only be reached by crossing the mountain or the lake, and its economy was based on fishing and the cultivation of olives and lemons. Limone is the last town in Brescia bordering Riva del Garda.
Even today, we find traces of this agricultural economy in the pillars and walls of the orchards, the typical gardens where lemons are grown, and in the picturesque fishing harbour. A place of culture, tradition, sport and fun, Limone is the ideal destination for those seeking excitement and breath-taking views.

Food and wine

Lemons

Lemons and lemon orchards have a long history here, and are part of a centuries-old tradition that should not be missed. They were brought here from the Ligurian Riviera during the 13th century, by monks from the convent of San Francesco in Gargnano. Even today, lemons are everywhere in these parts, so savour their extraordinary goodness.

Our oil

An ancient, well-known tradition, Garda DOP Extra Virgin Olive Oil is produced at the northernmost latitude in the world here thanks to Lake Garda's microclimate. The oil produced here is very fine, light, fruity and balanced

WineWine

Viticulture is an integral part of the history, culture and landscape of the Brescia side of Lake Garda. The wines are known for their originality and quality. The municipality of Limone has a large number of designations of origin dedicated to wine and many wineries to visit.

Capers

Garda capers, a symbol of the Mediterranean nature of the Riviera, have been celebrated since the 16th century. They grow wild in bushes, are picked by hand and then traditionally preserved in olive oil or salt.

Fish

Whitefish, pike, perch and much more, Lake Garda's fish stock is constantly growing and the centuries-old tradition of lake fishing is kept alive.
